Why teams migrate

Every Update Turns Into a Project

The site worked fine when it was smaller. Now every new page, navigation change, or campaign seems to touch three other things. What should be a quick update turns into a project.

Nothing Gets Done Without the Developers

Changing a headline should take five minutes. Instead, it becomes a ticket, joins the dev queue, and waits. Marketing moves at the speed of engineering, even when the work has nothing to do with engineering.

Too Much Work to Publish a Page

The CMS technically works, but only because everyone has learned the rules. Too many fields, duplicated content, unclear relationships, and workarounds that made sense once but somehow became permanent.

Website Bill Became Too Expensive

Another seat. Another locale. Another add-on. Another agency or developer retainer. The bill keeps climbing, but it's hard to point to what you're actually getting for the extra cost.

Every SEO Fix Requires a Workaround

Structured data, canonical control, and redirect handling are where most builders stop. If search is a real channel for you, that ceiling has a number attached to it.

Outgrown the Platform

Sometimes the answer is not another builder. Teams with engineers on staff, real traffic, or a product to integrate with move to a custom or headless stack, and that is a migration we run too.

Migration paths

Not sure which direction fits? See the FAQ below, or talk to us directly.

WordPress to Webflow migration

Plugin upkeep, and a dev ticket for every edit. Content, CMS structure, and every redirect move across.

Squarespace to Webflow migration

Usually the point where the template stops stretching. Pages, collections, and rankings carry over intact.

Framer to Webflow migration

Usually the point where marketing starts queuing behind a designer. CMS, interactions, and rankings all come across.

Wix logoWix to Webflow migration

Usually the point where the design and the SEO controls both run out of room. Pages, Collections, and rankings carry over.

Our migration process

We run a migration using six stages, built to protect the rankings you already have while you move platforms, and make your site easier to manage.

Audit

We run the crawl ourselves, not a template checklist: every indexed URL, every form, every CMS field, so we know exactly what has to survive the move before we touch anything. That crawl becomes the redirect map, and everything else gets built against it.

Design (optional)

Not every migration needs a redesign, plenty of sites just need to change platforms as-is. But if yours does, our B2B web design team finishes the UI before development starts.

Build

Our Webflow development team builds the new site against the audit and the redirect map, matching the existing site page for page and field for field before anything else happens.

SEO and redirect QA

Every redirect gets tested individually, not spot-checked, and the metadata, schema, and canonical structure get checked against the map from step one. Same standard as the technical SEO work we run for tech startups outside of a migration.

Launch

We handle the DNS cutover ourselves, on a schedule we set in advance and watch in real time.

Monitor

We track rankings for 90 days after launch, well past the 72 hours where most agencies stop watching. If something breaks in that window, we fix it within 30 days.

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose search rankings during the migration?

Not if the redirect map is built before the new site launches, which is why it's step one of the process above, not a cleanup step after. Rankings are monitored for 90 days post-launch specifically because the risk window doesn't close at launch day.

How do I audit my website before migrating to Webflow?

Crawl every indexed URL first, then cross-check that list against Search Console so you know which pages actually earn traffic and backlinks. Those are the ones the redirects have to get exactly right. Then catalogue the CMS structure field by field, list every form, integration, and plugin the site depends on, and record a rankings baseline before anything moves.

Without that baseline you can't tell a migration problem from an ordinary fluctuation once you've launched. The output of an audit isn't a report, it's the 301 redirect map and the rebuild spec everything else gets built against.

How long does a Webflow migration take?

Most migrations run 4 to 8 weeks depending on site size and CMS complexity. A ten-page marketing site and a 200-post blog with custom fields are not the same project.

What does a Webflow migration cost?

Depends on scope: page count, CMS complexity, and whether custom functionality needs to be rebuilt or just carried over. Book an audit for a real number instead of a range that doesn't apply to your site.

Do you migrate off Webflow too, or only onto it?

Both. Most agencies in this space only move people onto Webflow, because that's the only direction they can build. We also build the custom stacks people move to when they outgrow it, which is the direction most migration shops can't offer.

What if my current site is already custom-coded?

We migrate custom-coded and already-headless sites onto Webflow too. It's a shorter conversation than the platforms above, since there's no plugin ecosystem or proprietary export format to untangle, just a straight content and structure migration.

Webflow vs. Elementor: which should I choose?

Different category. Elementor is a WordPress plugin, so you're still running WordPress underneath it, plugin conflicts and hosting overhead included. Webflow is the platform itself. If the plan is to leave WordPress, this isn't really the choice, that decision already happened. If you're staying on WordPress, Elementor's a reasonable builder for what it is.

If you want the feature-level detail, our Webflow vs Elementor comparison covers ease of use, design control, SEO, and pricing side by side.

Webflow vs. Divi: which is better?

Same category problem as Elementor. Divi is a WordPress theme and builder, not a replacement for WordPress. If plugin bloat or hosting headaches are the actual complaint, migrating to Webflow solves that. Swapping builders while staying on WordPress doesn't.

Our Webflow vs Divi comparison goes through the CMS, hosting, and pricing differences in full.

How does Webflow compare to Framer?

Both are real platforms, not WordPress plugins, so this one's closer. Framer's design tooling edges out Webflow for pure visual work. Webflow's CMS holds up better once you're publishing on a schedule, not just shipping a site once. Solo designer, single project: Framer's fine. Blog or content team involved: Webflow's the safer bet.

We go deeper on that tradeoff in our Framer vs Webflow comparison, including who each platform is actually built for.

Know which direction is right before you commit to either.

A migration audit tells you what the move actually costs, what it protects, and whether Webflow is even the right destination. No commitment to build until you've seen it.
