The Accountant Quits: A Brand Going Back to Its Roots

"Khod helped us grow website traffic by 500% and unlock new revenue streams through our online academies. The redesign changed how users interact with our brand. It now drives revenue month over month."
A brand that got crowded, then got focused
The Accountant Quits is the longest-running podcast in crypto and onchain accounting — 110 episodes, guests from firms like Deloitte, EY, Securitize, CoinTracker, Safe, Cryptio, Squads, BDO, and RSM. What started as a show grew a second life: certification academies, a community platform, an education business living on the same site.
Eventually the education side outgrew what a podcast site could carry. Khod split it off onto its own domain and brand — On-Chain Finance Institute — built to speak to a more institutional buyer. That left The Accountant Quits free to go back to its roots, a media brand.
It had been on Webflow since Khod migrated it off WordPress years earlier, but the client wanted to simplify how the site got managed — so Khod rebuilt it in custom code using an AI-assisted approach: Astro and Tailwind for performance, Sanity as the CMS for episodes. That approach also kept the rebuild itself lean, so less time went into managing the migration and more stayed with the podcast, the OCF Institute, and the business as a whole.
The stack: custom, but still self-editable
We rebuilt the site in custom code and put it on Vercel, so every update goes live the moment it's pushed. The migration took about a week.
The content lives in its own Sanity account — a clean CMS handoff with no ongoing agency dependency. The client logs in on their own domain to make edits, not some separate third-party dashboard.
- Rebuilt the whole front end. Every part of the homepage — the hero video, company logos, episode list, manifesto, about-the-host section, guest photos, footer — was rebuilt to match the original design exactly, right down to the brand's signature purple. All 110 episode pages were generated automatically from the old site's data.
- Migrated everything. All 110 episodes and guests, plus their photos, moved over into the new CMS with nothing lost. And if the CMS ever goes down, the site keeps working — every page has a backup copy built in.
- Click-to-edit across the site. The client can click on any part of the homepage, contact page, media kit, or sponsorship page and edit it live, seeing changes as they happen. Sponsor sections show icons and thumbnails so an editor can tell them apart at a glance.
How editing works
The client wanted something like Webflow's build mode: assembling new pages from existing components, without a free-form canvas that could get messed up by accident. Sanity's editor does exactly that: reorder blocks, preview live, no way to drag something out of place. That scope was set with the client up front, before handoff.
